Christmas traditions and Elf on the shelf ideas!

Christmas time is here! We have traditions we do each Christmas season. Our favorites, and most meaningful, are Advent readings/songs each week on Sunday and our Jesse Tree Advent (We are currently using the one through Pip & J Papery and we love it! We first used it last year and are doing it again this year). We love to share with Zeke and Isla about Jesus - celebrating his birth and the reason he came to earth. There is no greater gift! The true meaning of Christmas!

Jesse Tree Advent - Christmas 2021

If circumstances allow, we also do traditions of decorating gingerbread houses, going to see Christmas lights, cookie baking, and we have enjoyed Elf on the shelf, too!

If you have fun with an elf during this season, but need some ideas of what to do, I thought I'd share the fun we've had with Buddy, our little Elf stuffie, from the past few years! Our kiddos know mommy sets up elf, but they love to wake up each morning to a surprise set up with "Buddy"! We've chosen for our elf to do fun/silly/encouraging things...majority of these ideas cost ZERO dollars! It's just about having some daily fun with the kids and bringing smiles to their faces! I know that getting creative is not everyone's cup of tea...I happen to thrive on creativity. Yep...one of those people ;)

Hope the ideas help you if you like to have fun with Elf on the shelf, too!

Happy Christmas!
