Isla's 13th VEPTR surgery (expansion) : recovery 11/09 -11/13

Thank you for all the prayers and messages.  Sorry if I haven't responded yet...

This has been a tougher recovery on Isla than it typically has been after an expansion. Isla was able to discharge from the hospital on Saturday, but she was in so much pain and feeling quite awful. We kept in communication with her team while still in Philadelphia. We flew home on Sunday night... Isla wanted to go home so badly, but that flight was so hard on her. Post surgical flights are just brutal. Isla was exhausted but had the biggest smile when we landed in Seattle.

She continued to be in a lot of pain the past few days. She was not her spunky self and was quite sad.

This morning she woke up a bit more herself and wanting to move around...yay, strong girl!

Today is Isla's 7th Forever Family Day 💗 (Gotcha Day)

Oh, what a massive blessing it is to celebrate this day!

WE LOVE OUR GIRL and feel incredibly blessed to get to be her family. 💗 We thank God for Isla and thank God for 7 years of LIFE and miracles with her!

When we realized today was the 13th (in full honesty, I thought it was a couple days out yet - lack of sleep and jet lag have us a little out of sorts) Isla was so excited! She immediately asked to wear a dress and tutu and have cupcakes! Such JOY! It really brightened her day

Thank you for praying... please keep praying for Isla thrrough this recovery.
